The third vintage of this second wine from Château Figeac is gently integrated with fresh fruit and acidity. Dusty tannins give mild structure to the wine.
The 2014 Petit-Figeac is laced with the essence of sweet dark cherry, plum, tobacco, mint, licorice and leather. Pliant, supple and expressive, it is a highly appealing second wine. This is just as impressive in bottle as it was from barrel.
Chateau Figeac dates back to second century Gallo-Roman origins; it is one of the few to have remained continually occupied since. Once one of the appellation’s largest vineyards, many plots have been sold, some to neighbouring Chateau Cheval Blanc. It has excellent terroir, since 2012 the wine is doing it justice again.
